Where do you sell if you want to be a brand that started yesterday?

Are you a luxury brand, premium brand or high-end brand? Forget 99.99% of all Chinese tradeshows and be very selective in Hong Kong, Singapore, USA and Europe. For some brands, there are only a few great shows like Paris, London, Frankfurt, Milan, Chicago and New York.
Many Chinese companies are focused on B2B fairs like Canton Fair or Hong Kong Shows to find wholesalers from the West. But these wholesales buyers don’t help your brand, they are price focused, however, you can always be a wholesale brand or supermarket brand. Nothing wrong with that! But be clear on what you want. A consumer high-end brand works differently than a super market brand, so you spend your money on different brand elements and different tradeshows and e-commerce platforms.
For Western brands going to China, it can be challenging for the same reasons: different markets, different consumer experiences, different market size, different culture, and how to engage with your brand to the right re-sellers, agents and distributors. Especially agents in China work differently than those in Europe and USA.
